Calling Hertfordshire Employers For Project Positive
An exciting new pilot project in Hertfordshire is looking for employers who want to offer apprenticeships to care experienced young people.
Project Positive is a unique partnership between Amazing Apprenticeships, Hertfordshire County Council, and ELSA Next Generation. With wide support from Hertfordshire LEP and partner organisations, this pilot programme will offer tailored support to employers in Hertfordshire who are passionate about social mobility in their business.
Young people with care experience are three times more likely not to be in education, employment, or training (NEET) than other young people, with the latest Department for Education figures showing that 39% of care leavers aged 19-21 are not in employment, education, or training, compared to 13% of those in the same age group. Project Positive aims to change the lives of this marginalised group through a tailored new approach.
“This is a fantastic opportunity to invest in diverse future talent for your business. By offering an apprenticeship to a young person who may not have been able to access the same opportunities as their peers, it’s making a real and meaningful commitment to changing the outcomes for this largely marginalised group.” Anna Morrison CBE
We are looking for Hertfordshire based employers who want to offer high-quality apprenticeship opportunities to those with care experience, to invest in diverse future talent and offer an apprenticeship to a young person who may not have been able to access the same opportunities as their peers.
The programme offers training and support to businesses, designed to develop knowledge, awareness and understanding of the ongoing and varied needs of your apprentices, and information about the funding available for employers who hire an apprentice with care experience. Participants will have access to expert advice from the Virtual School Advisers at Hertfordshire County Council throughout the apprenticeship.
